Off to a winning start…

So last week we flew over to Spain for Joe Sherriff’s first fight of the year. Last year he made the move over to MTK Marbella to focus solely on his boxing. February 16th was our first fight on Spanish soil. The fight had a good line up mainly consisting of home fighters and we also heard it was to be streamed on Euro Sport. 

Fight camp went well with Joe coming over to the UK for his sparring with unbeaten prospect Tim Hatton & UFC star Tom Breese then flying back to Spain for pad work with coach Tom Stalker, former Olympian boxer. Soon it was fight week. Team Red Corner flew out for the weigh-in which went perfectly. We were ready. 

6 rounds against Alvaro Terrero. Joe dominated the fight. Winning every round and delivering a punishing knock down in the 4th. Those cobwebs were soon dusted off and he gave a top quality performance winning by unanimous decision. We live-streamed the fight on our facebook page if anyone still wants to watch it. 

Now we focus on prep for the March 9th Coventry home show. Camp started this week again for Joe Sherriff who’s flying in next week. The gym is full of focus with all the guys boxing on the show. Group training, sparring and pad work has kept us all busy. We are working hard to get those results in the bag come March 9th!
