Fight Night Details

Last week saw the first of this years Professional Boxing Home show. Based at the Mercia Banqueting suite, Coventry, the venue had plenty of parking and offered a slightly cosier viewing experience.

Second fight of the year for Joe Sherriff. Continuing on from his previous win in February in Spain, Joe got a six rounder under his belt winning on points and is building himself towards a title shot.
Joe won every round but at cruiser didn’t have the same snap as when boxing at light heavy we expect to see that power back when joe campaigns at his natural weight. Next up for Joe we are chasing a title shot. 2019 has some big things in store for Sherriff.

Troy had a cracking four rounder with Chris Adaway who somehow withstood two fight ending shots in the fourth round to lose on points.
Troy looked fresh and sharp and good to see him in his home town. Back to his winning ways, Troy will be looking to box again on the next home show.

Unfortunately due to late medical’s not being approved on time, boxer Josh Bailie did not get passed to box. Having endured a full camp and selling tickets, we hoped the board would be more lenient but it wasn’t meant to be. Josh was there on the night to offer support to the team. He will be boxing on the next home show in May.

Due to illness, another of our boxers, Luke Beasley had to pull out from the bill a few weeks before fight week. Resentfully, but still his body just wasn’t strong enough to withstand the toughest part of camp and then the fight after.

It was Red Corner’s first show with new promoter Jon Pegg, and what a great show it was. New venue, smooth running times, professional set-up all round we couldn’t have been happier. Jon has already confirmed a second home show in Coventry for May with all our boys boxing on the bill.

Many thanks to Jon for having us on and signing the lads. And as always a massive thank you to the ticket buyers, without your support these lads wouldn’t be able to fight. Big Thank you and we look forward to putting on another night of quality professional boxing for Coventry🙌🏼
